ICAN CENTER MIX & MINGLE AT MISSOURI CITY BRANCH LIBRARY
Job-hunters who are interested in networking are invited to attend the ICAN Center Mix & Mingle at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Missouri City Branch Library, 1530 Texas Parkway, on Wednesday, November 10, beginning at 6:00 pm.
Those attending will have an opportunity to meet other individuals with similar job-hunting experiences, to exchange ideas and business cards, and to establish relationships that may assist them in their networking and job-hunting endeavors. Job-hunters may also participate in a “Flash Round-Table Round-Up” in which they will give a 30-second resumé of why their qualifications make them the best candidate for a job.
Refreshments will be available, and a drawing for a door prize will take place at the end of the meeting. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-499-4100.
The ICAN (Information, Careers and Networking) Center provides eight additional computers, printers, and traditional print resources that are specifically intended to assist job hunters or anyone considering a career change. High school students, college graduates, senior adults, or people with limited English-speaking abilities will find resources that will assist them in career planning, job-skills exam preparation, college selection and financial aid, and current career information.
The ICAN Center was made possible with funding provided by a Loan Star grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. The Loan Star program is designed to enhance and enrich the services that public libraries provide to the citizens of the state of Texas, both in their local areas and across the state.
