Learn About the Library’s New Job & Career Resource, Sept. 25, 2013
The Job & Career Accelerator™ tool is a new resource recently added to Fort Bend County Libraries’ LearningExpressLibrary online database. This new easy-to-use online application provides a variety of job-search assistance tools to help job-hunters in their quest for the right job or a new career.
The Adult Services staff at the Sienna Branch Library will present an introductory demonstration of the LearningExpressLibrary’s Job & Career Accelerator resource on Wednesday, September 25, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.
Learn how to find detailed information on more than 1,000 different occupations, and match interests and skills with possible careers. The resource provides more than five million up-to-the-minute local and national job postings, as well as valuable tips and advice through every step of the job-search process – from the initial search to the acceptance of a job offer. Job-hunters will also learn how to create professional resumés and cover letters, and practice interviewing skills.
The LearningExpressLibrary Job & Career Accelerator resource can be accessed remotely at any time of the day or night from a home computer with an Internet connection. A library card barcode number is required to use this resource outside of the library.
The class is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Sienna Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2952, or by visiting the library.
