Workshops for Job Hunters Oct. 9 & 11, 2018
Are you looking for a job or considering a career change? You can pound the pavement with all the other job-hunters, or you can begin your search with a little preliminary legwork at the library.
In October, Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library in Richmond will present two workshops that will provide assistance for job-hunters.
On Tuesday, October 9, the library will have a “Resume-Writing Workshop” beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab of the library. Learn the basics of putting together a resumé. Those attending this informal program will receive one-one-one help formatting a resumé. For assistance on a pre-existing resumé, please have a digital copy available on a USB flashdrive, saved to the cloud, or have access to it via email. Registration is required.
On Thursday, October 11, Richard Prather from Texas Workforce Solutions will present “Beating Long-Term Unemployment” beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. Prather will discuss factors that may contribute to an extended period of unemployment. Get tips on how to develop a job-search plan that will improve chances of finding the right job. Reservations are NOT required for this program.
The programs are free and open to the public.
