WORKSHOPS FOR JOB HUNTERS AT GEORGE MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Are you looking for a job or considering a career change?  You can pound the pavement with all the other job-hunters, or you can begin your search with a little preliminary legwork at the library.

In March, Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library in Richmond will present three workshops that will provide assistance for job-hunters.

On Thursday, March 7, Richard Prather from Texas Workforce Solutions will present “Up & Out: Resumés, Applications, and Cover Letters” beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. Prather will share tips on how to make the most impact with prospective employers by completing professional applications, resumés, cover letters, and thank you notes that truly stand out among the rest.

On Tuesday, March 12, the library will have a “Resume-Writing Workshop” beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab of the library. Learn the basics of putting together a resumé. Those attending this informal program will receive one-one-one help formatting a resumé. For assistance on a pre-existing resumé, please have a digital copy available on a USB flashdrive, saved to the cloud, or have access to it via email. Registration is required.

On Saturday, March 23, Richard Prather will present “Up & Out: Landing That First Job”beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Meeting Room. Prather will provide insight into how to build the experience that can launch a future career.
