Feb. 2020 Workshops for Job Seekers
WORKSHOPS FOR JOB-HUNTERS AT GEORGE MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Are you looking for a job or considering a career change? You can pound the pavement with all the other job-hunters, or you can begin your search with a little preliminary legwork at the library.
In February, Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library in Richmond will present two workshops that will provide assistance for job-hunters.
On Tuesday, February 11, the library will have a “Resume-Writing Workshop” from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Computer Lab of the library. Learn the basics of putting together a resumé. Those attending this informal program will receive one-one-one help formatting a resumé. For assistance on a pre-existing resumé, please have a digital copy available on a USB flashdrive, saved to the cloud, or have access to it via email. Registration is required.
On Wednesday, February 12, a representative from Texas Workforce Solutions will present “Job-Search Seminar: A Targeted Plan” from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. A representative from Texas Workforce Solutions will talk about reviewing the labor market and assessing one’s needs and employment skills to create a targeted job-search plan.
The programs are free and open to the public. For more information, or to register for the Resume-Writing workshop, call George Memorial Library at 281-342-4455, or sign up on the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), by clicking on “Events,” selecting “George Memorial Library,” and finding the program.
